You just can't win with some people...
You seen this yet? So Oliver Stone wanted to make a movie about Ahmadinejad. Why? Well the reasons are apparently two-fold:1. White and/or American Guilt.
2. The obvious popularity that such a movie would achieve.
But the why of it all doesn't really interest me. What is amazing is that Ahmadinejad turned him down. Ahmedinejad is not a popular dude. He's hated by most Persians. Those who support him are hated by the West and the bulk of the Sunni world alike. Ahmadinejad - no matter how much Anti-Americanism he spews - will never be accepted by Sunni extremists.
It's kind of pathetic really; and this is ironically reflected both in Stone and Ahmadinejad. Stone thinks that his politics could gain his favor in the eyes of those who hate America. Ahmadinejad thinks his politics and unoriginal regurgitation of "The Great Satan" line, can gain him favor with extremists throughout the so-called "Islaamic" world. He wants the Ummah but all he gets is Hugo Chavez.
i guess what makes the whole "Great Satan" thing so tired - and this is unrelated - is that so much in the so-called "Islaamic" world is Satanic itself and Ahmadinejad (to say nothing of Sunni extremists), never seems to have any vitrol to spit over these things. Everything is either swept under the rug, or justified as (not encouraged, but not haraam). "Oh brother, we are he is not saying it is mustahab to rub one's penis between the thighs of a 2 year old, he is just saying that it is halaal!"
Yeah.
America has its bullshit, but at least we don't have a clergy, interwoven with the Government, that makes it a habit of justifying children clearing mine fields, old men fucking 9 year olds, molesting 2 year olds (remember, you can only rape them once they are 9, before then they may only be molested), locking women away, and otherwise compelling them to dress in manners that they - by and large - have no interest in dressing.
...but i digress; as i often do.
